月曜日がメモリアルデーで祝日のため、３連休だった週末を利用して、ボートで３泊４日のバケーション！金曜日の午後にテストがあったので、その後、カレッジからハーバーに自転車を走らせ、私がテストを受けている間に、ひとりで食料品や氷を購入し、ボートに全て詰め込んでくれていたロブさんと合流し、すぐさま、出港。
風の力で傾きながら、豪快に波を切って進むYankee。前方からは波のスプラッシュ。最初の頃は、この傾き加減に強く恐怖心を感じたものだけれど、最近は、少し慣れてきた。
Lummi Island の Inati Bay に碇をおろし、そこで一泊。前日に３７．５度の熱があったことも忘れさせる、エキサイティングなセーリングだった。

Rob and I left the squalicum harbor, Bellingham with our Yankee 30 Yacht "Yankee Doodle" on May 27 '11 for our vacation. We headed to Inati Bay, Lummi Island to spend first night. As you can see in the picture, the boat was heeling over thanks to good winds. I used to be very afraid of this heel. I am getting used to it now.
